Preventions / Screenings

Hearing Screening
Hearing screenings conducted by a speech and language pathologist are available for children and adults. A physician referral is required.
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Fee: Varies; covered by many insurance plans, Medicare and Medicaid


Depression Screening
Depression is an illness and effective treatments are available. Hospital Counseling and Psychiatric Services provides depression screenings for adults at no charge. The screening consists of a written self-test for depression and a screening interview with a mental health professional.
Appointments Monday-Friday.
Fee: Free


Breast Cancer Screening
The Mobile Mammography Service for Women is a low cost breast cancer screening service jointly owned by Hospital and Southern Radiological Associates, Inc., and is operated by the SIRA Imaging Center. The mobile van travels to sites in Monroe County, as well as Nashville, Mooresville, Martinsville, Bedford, Odon, Spencer, Terre Haute, North Vernon and polis, visiting school systems, businesses, factories and rural health clinics. The American Cancer Society recommends annual mammograms for all women beginning at age 40.
Fee: $85; $65 for Medicare recipients


Immunization / Walk-In Clinics
The Immunization/Walk-In Clinic program provides immunizations and other health services for both children and adults. Services include injections (allergy, vitamin), screening for hypertension, elevated blood sugar, anemia, elevated lead, tuberculosis, head lice, pregnancy and HIV (anonymous); health and wellness assessments; pre-filling syringes (insulin); dressing changes; and education in self care (catheterization). Clinics are schedules at various locations throughout the community and at 333 E. Miller Drive. Walk-ins are welcome.
Monday 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Tuesday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., and the second Saturday of the month 9 a.m.-noon.
Fee: Minimal charge depending on service


Neighborhood Health Screenings
The Neighborhood Health Screening Program for low-income families provides health screenings at locations throughout the community such as the Community Kitchen and the Crestmont Family Center in and First United Methodist Church Community Kitchen in Ellettsville.
Fee: Free

Employee health care coverage represents a significant part of any employer's budget. You'll begin with an assessment of your employees' ehalth needs. This aassessment will reveal target areas fro improvemetn that can be addressed through focused interventions. Your outcomes will be measured and refinements made to kepp your wellness efforts on track. The Worksite Wellness can perform personal wellness profiles, worksite wellness screening and wellness education classes.

Hospital's Worksite Wellness Services Team works closely with the Center for Occupational Health. Together we are dedicated to taking care of you -- on the job. Put the largest team of occupational health professional in south central to work for you.
